Lady Gaga - Born This Way

This video is wonderful! Birthing a new race of humanity free of prejudice and discrimination. That would be wonderful.. no countries & religions too :). It's the modern day Imagine + I Will Survive. Def worth checking this video out if you haven't seen it already! This is the Gaga I LOVE. I really didn't like Telephone or Alejandro.. but this is classic. On par if not above Bad Romance. I enjoy how she taps into classic Gaga, I knew she was still in there!

seeing the world with a different perspective...

wow, that was quite a bold statement you made about my character. so i don't fit the social norm, is it so far fetched to not want to fit into the stereotype? people should be able to hold whatever beliefs they so choose, without the fear of persecution and prejudice. that's why we live in this great nation, right? so we can be free so express ourselves, whichever way we deem most adequate.

i don't appreciate the fact that you are frustrated with not being able to predict my actions. not everyone fits inside this cookie-cutter image society places on us. open up your mind. things aren't always clear cut, especially not people.

what is normal?

Who defines what’s normal? If you think about it “normal” can have unlimited definitions. Normal in one population could be totally abnormal in another. Customs and traditions contribute to a certain groups take on “normal”. Normal in our society has been morphed from a series of events and movements that have taken place in the past which have forced people to pass down certain ideals. They were passed down to support progression or stabilization of the populations at that time.

Don’t be a clone. Embrace differences and celebrate diversity. You don’t have to be exactly the same as everyone else. The world is filled with multi-faceted people with many different likes and interests. Having one set of beliefs does not make you better than anyone else. Do what feels right to you.

Ice

The other day a friend asked me the age old question “would you rather die in fire or ice?” Since I was small I’ve always advocated for an icy death over a fiery one. The thought of lying in a bed made of snow, drifting away into a tranquil deep sleep seemed quite pleasant and serene. But, now that I am older and have experienced some of the harsh realities of this cruel world I’ve figured out nothing is ever that simple. Usually, in fire deaths the most immediate thing that happens is that the smoke of the fire reaches your lungs and knocks you out, your body is then left in an unconscious state as the flames cremate your entire being. Whereas ice deaths make you linger, and they feel as if they last an eternity. The great irony behind dying in ice is that you feel like you’re burning to death from the inside out. I like the idea of how fire can perish your entire being into ash. The thought of my physical self turning into nothing, and given right back to nature is much more comforting than the thought of being mummified in an icy tomb. I believe in leaving the world exactly the same way we came in… as nothing.

I'm back! I swear.

I'm sorry I never update this anymore! I don’t know if I have any valid excuses for my prolonged disappearance. It was both a little bit of laziness and a little bit of hecticness in my life. I would like to completely lay the blame on my busy schedule, but truthfully I probably could’ve made the time. Lately, I just never had the patience or energy to sit down and project my thoughts and feelings into words. But, it really is a shame, as I loved using blogging as a medium to vent and express my creativity. After all these months of pent up emotions, I’ve basically become a boiling vial of liquid ready to explode and spew my personal expression everywhere.

It’s a perfect time for me to get back into the jazz of things here of blogspot. All the stress of juggling school, work, social life, and extracurricular activities can be put on hold for a few months while I kick back and solely devote my life to “Tommy Time” lol :D. I love when everything wraps up at the end of the school year, and all my commitments are replaced with late nights, leisure reading, and best of all little to no responsibility! Yay!
