A.C.A.D. (ArtaWEARness) '10 Fashion Show
So very thankful to my wonderful friend Ashley for introducing me to this amazing once in a year event held at the Alberta College of Art and Design. I was seriously starting to consider Calgary to be an empty, dry, and boring city that neglected anything creative. This live explosion of creative expressionism has reinforced my belief that Calgary is a city of thriving talented artists. I fully commend all the designers who took part in this wonderful show. As a fashion show virgin, it totally met all my expectations and more.
I've never really understood the hype around fashions shows until this life-altering experience. The combination of lights, music, and fashion really creates an escapist experience unlike any type of entertainment I've ever wittnessed. The vivid imagery presented during these run-way performances really effectively captivated the audience. I was so involved in these artistic pieces, that I felt I was inside of the artist's mind, seeing what they saw, and feeling what they felt. My absolute favorite performance of the night was Fatal Seduction. I was immensely ecstatic to hear that the piece was awarded best performance.
